Brief Bio

Zhenan is a senior Electrical Engineering undergraduate student in the Statistical Visual Computing Lab (SVCL) at the University of California, San Diego, where he is working on building a content based plankton image retrieval system using Convolutional Neural Network(CNN) retrain as a classier on the labeled data to extract feature vector of each image. He joins the UCSD ECE-SRIP (Summer Research Internship Program) under the supervision of Prof. Nuno Vasconcelos.

Research

His research interests are in the intersection between machine learning and computer vision; specifically,real-time object detection interests him the most.
